Instructions for Having the Elijah Cup in Your Home

We thank you for agreeing to offer prayers for this important parish ministry at Saint Agnes.  After receiving the Elijah Cup at the weekend Mass that you attend and taking it home, please read these instructions and the Elijah Cup Story from the main page to your family.  Open the case showing the priest’s chalice and the image of Jesus the Good Shepherd.  Display the open case in a prominent place in your home for the entire week. (The chalice is cemented into the case—please do not attempt to remove it.)  Pray each day for one week with the faith that God will answer the need we have for young men from Saint Agnes to say “yes” to His call.  You may pray with your favorite prayers or use the prayers and sample devotional aids we have here.  Use the buttons on the right to access the prayers or find out more about the Elijah cup.  Then, once you’ve completed the experience, please share your feedback!

On Saturday, return the case to the shelf in the church narthex (back of the church) anytime before the 4:30 p.m. Mass and display it with the case open.  (Note: It is important to have the the cup returned early enough for the next family to take it if they are attending the first weekend Mass at 4:30 p.m.)

Thank you for praying for vocations at Saint Agnes and please continue this new devotion.  Only through the grace of God will a young man at Saint Agnes hear the call to priesthood.  Your intense prayers will be an instrument of that grace. God bless you and your family for praying for vocations!
