FrPepeDear Fr. Jose O Pimentel, affectionately called “Fr. Pepe,” came to St. Agnes on November 8, 2012.

He returns to his home archdiocese of Caceres on the island of Luzon on January 3, 2018.

I recall those early days of transition as he had to navigate and adjust to life in Western PA. They were quite challenging for him but he rose to the occasion. He settled into his primary apostolate (after sacramental ministry) which was
visitation of the homebound, the nursing homes with the assistance of the Legion of Mary, and the local hospitals.

Fr. Pepe is a gentle, humble, uncomplicated, unpretentious and deeply spiritual man who won over our hearts.

We will miss you, Fr. Pepe, and pray for you. Do not forget and keep us in your prayers.

Traditional Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Blessing for Travelers
All-powerful God, You always show mercy toward those who love You.
You are never far away from those who seek You.
Remain with Fr. Pepe on his return to the Philippines
and guide his way in accord with Your will.
Shelter him with Your protection by day,
and give him the light of Your grace by night.
As his constant companion on the journey of life,
bring him safely home to Naga City to continue his priestly ministry.
When his days on earth are completed, welcome him to Your heavenly homeland.
We ask this in the Name of Christ Jesus, Emmanuel,
Who lives and reigns with You, Father, and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.
