Music Ministry
The Call…
All are called by God to serve the church, and everyone has gifts to be used for the good of the Parish. The Parish Choir is open to singers in 8th grade through retirees! You are being called to one of the most beautiful ministries of the church — the Music Ministry! Give your gift selflessly!
The Task…
The task of the Music Ministry is service to others — to lead, to support, and to enrich the assembly’s sung prayer. Our gifts and skills may differ, but in God’s eyes, we are all equal.
The Reward…
St. Agnes Choir becomes richer because of people like you who so graciously sing God’s praises, and you reap your own personal reward.
Where do you fit in…?
The Parish Choir sings for the 9:00 a.m. Mass each Sunday, September through mid-June. We rehearse every Wednesday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A special invitation is extended to students of Greensburg Central Catholic High School and Norwin High School. Singing in the Parish Choir is an excellent way to fulfill your service hours’ commitment to your Parish and community.
The Joyful Noise Choir sings for the 11:15 a.m. Mass every other Sunday, October through mid-May, along with other special occasions. Rehearsals are every other Tuesday evening in the church. Skilled younger musicians will also have an opportunity to share their talents with instruments such as flute, clarinet, trumpet, guitar. This is a wonderful way to introduce church music to students in grades 2 through 8. For more information, please email Louise Vranesevic, Children’s Music Director.
The Resurrection Choir sings for all Parish funerals. No separate rehearsals are held; instead, arrive approximately 1/2 hour before each funeral to become familiar with the music. For men and women who are available during the day, this is a very fulfilling way to serve your Parish family in their time of need.
Cantors – Skilled vocalists 16 years of age and older are needed at all Masses. Rehearsals are scheduled once a month. Cantors should have some formal musical training as well as the ability to lead and teach the people psalms and hymns. As a cantor, you will have the unique privilege of bringing life to the songs of Scriptures by assisting the congregation in praying together in song.
Instrumentalists – Many competent instrumentalists enhance our liturgies each week and at various special occasions throughout the year. Rehearsals are scheduled only as needed. If you are a high school musician or one of the Parish’s more mature musicians, you are encouraged to take advantage of these occasional opportunities to share your talents and serve your church.

Come, join our Music Ministry — it is a wonderful way to live out the Gospel!
